The scenery was breathtaking! We definitely recommend taking this journey to the top! On our day the Ice Palace was closed for maintenance and the sound system in the Cinema Lounge area wasn't working. Fortunately there was plenty of scenery all around to take in!

This experience is perfect for my first time using the app, everything was very fast, I showed the reservation I made in the app and they already had my ticket printed, it didn't even take 2 minutes to check me in.

The opportunity to see up to 34 4000-metre peaks and 14 glaciers as well as the magnificent, varied views on the Selbahn ride at a reasonable price. Plus the glacier grotto, which really impressed us. The term "glacier paradise" is no exaggeration. It's worth noting that the train route has several intermediate stations, which offers plenty of opportunities for getting on and off the train. For example, getting off at Torckenen Steg on the return journey and getting on again at Furi, after the descent had, contrary to expectations, taken its toll on our bones. Also worth mentioning during our two-night stay: The friendliness and courtesy of the locals! We are happy to recommend Zermatt in every respect.

The views were incredible and it was snowing too. Would appreciate more signages leading to the location. Also perhaps a clothes rental service for guests who are not dressed appropriately.

Things to know before booking your Geneva to Zermatt day-trip featuring Glacier Paradise

  • Glacier Paradise, also known as Klien Matterhorn, is Europe’s highest summit station perched at 3,883 meters, and can only be accessed via the car-free village of Zermatt, reached through a series of scenic cable car rides.
  • Zermatt itself is a destination worth exploring, known for its alpine charm, boutique cafés, and spell-binding views of the Matterhorn. Strolling its quiet streets or enjoying a mountain meal is the perfect prelude or follow-up to your high-altitude adventure. But to truly experience the majesty of the Alps, Zermatt is best paired with Matterhorn Glacier Paradise for a complete, once-in-a-lifetime mountain journey.
  • Your basic ticket to the summit station offers a comprehensive alpine experience. You'll ride a three-stage cable car journey with optional scenic stops at Furi, Schwarzsee, and Trockener Steg, where you can hop off to explore trails and activities on your own or continue on your cable car adventure to the top. At the summit, your ticket includes Glacier Palace, where glowing ice sculptures and glistening tunnels await, a cinema lounge showcasing Alpine documentaries, and viewing platform offering 360° views of 38 mountain peaks and 14 glaciers across Switzerland, Italy, and France.
  • Best of all, you can enjoy it all in a single day, even when traveling from outside Zermatt, thanks to Switzerland's seamless connectivity and efficient planning. The full round-trip day tour from the city of Geneva, situated as far as 231 km, only takes around 13 to 14 hours, including coach travel, village exploration, and time at the summit. This is just enough to experience the alpine highlights, and still return to your Geneva hotel by evening.
  • The journey is split into two smooth stages: an AC coach ride from Geneva to Täsch, followed by an electric shuttle into car-free Zermatt, both coordinated by a driver-guide who handles all transfers, making the entire experience hassle-free.
  • Doing this in a day is key: you don’t need to arrange overnight stays, switch accommodations, or handle multiple bookings. With well-coordinated coach transfers from Geneva and included cable car access, you can explore both Zermatt and Glacier Paradise with maximum ease.
  • Your ticket also includes free time in Zermatt, letting you explore local shops, try regional cuisine, or visit nearby landmarks like the Matterhorn Museum, at your own pace before your return journey.
  • While in Zermatt, you can also experience the thrill of paragliding, safely strapped in with a pilot, for a once-in-a-lifetime flight over the Alps at altitudes above 3,000 meters. For 25 unforgettable minutes, you’ll soar through the clouds with front-row views of the Matterhorn, a perspective no summit station or viewing deck can offer. Do note, this experience involves a short running start for takeoff, so it’s not recommended for visitors with mobility issues.
  • The Glacier Paradise itself is wheelchair-friendly with elevators and accessible cable cars, the coach transfers from Geneva are not, making the full day-trip option unsuitable for visitors with mobility challenges.
