Constructed in 1898, Gornergrat Railway is an electric cog railway located in Valais in Switzerland. It serves as a link between the village of Zermatt and the summit of Gornergrat offering magnificent views of the snow-covered Swiss Alps. The Gornergrat Railway timetable includes a train running up to the summit every 24 to 48 minutes starting early morning and continuing until after sunset. The first train leaves the station in Zermatt at 7 AM.

To reach Gornergrat, you will first have to get to Zermatt GGB Railway Station. You can take a #571 or #572 bus and get off at the Zermatt, Bahnhof stop. Once you reach the bus stop, walk down to the railway station to take a train to the summit.
You can reach Gornergrat by taking a 30-minute long train from Zermatt railway station. The train first stops at Findelbach followed by Riffelalp, Riffelberg, and Rotenboden before it finally reaches the Gornergrat Railway Station.
